Much of what we do at SUM centers on a simple strategy: to design the right tool for the job.
Streamline the process of design using design tools that enhance the design process and not obscure the outcome.
Tools that help us manage both simple and complex issues.
For us, craft is matching a tool with the skillset necessary to use that tool toward a known goal.
In 2010, SUM finished construction of its collaboration and build studio. From start to finish, the studio was designed to enable different people with unique contributions to work, experiment and build together. The large, open studio combined with the ability for flexible work space to accommodate a range of activity brings SUM and its clients together in a process of shared design and solution. SUM is not an office; it is space for shared effort and uncommon outcomes.
